Let’s turn now to the Turkish Grand Prix and its hardest braking point. This comes approaching turn 7. The Brembo engineers calculate that the drivers brake down here by around 210 km/h, discharging in the process a full 2,250 kilowatts of energy. Up to 5.1 G pull at the driver, as he pushes down with 135kg on the brake!

Starting from this event, Brembo engineers will provide the value of braking power for each brake of the circuit, indicated in KW (Kilowatt). This additional data highlights how the energy dissipated during the braking is definitely higher than the power applied to speed up the car. This energy can be translated also in the well-known Hp, simply multiplying the KW value by 1,341.
