The team opened the second of this winter’s pre-season tests in Jerez with Rubens Barrichello returning to the cockpit for day one of a four day test. The team concentrated on long runs this morning to carry out systems checks on the FW32, while in the afternoon effort was focused on set-up work.

Today’s session, which saw eleven teams out on track including new entrants Lotus and Virgin, was somewhat compromised by intermittent rain while average ambient temperatures floated around the 14°C mark.

Rubens will continue the team’s schedule of work tomorrow, while Nico Hulkenberg will assume testing duties on Friday and Saturday.

Sam Michael, Technical Director:

Today the track was generally damp with only a few windows to run dry tyres. Although we covered a good number of laps, we had a couple of small mechanical problems that cost us track time when the grip was at its highest. We continue running tomorrow with Rubens.
