Red Bull F1 Show In Colombia

The Red Bull F1 Running Showcar travels to Colombia when David Coulthard burns rubber along the streets of Bogota on Saturday, April 10.

It’ll be an early wake-up call for residents when he guns his engine at 6.30am to race down the centre of the city, from the Plaza de Bolivar in the north Carrera Seventh to 18th Street.

Red Bull racing spoke to DC ahead of his trip over to South America…

What are your expectations of Colombia?
“It will be my first time in Colombia itself, but I have visited South America several times, so I expect the same warm reception and friendly people I’ve found elsewhere. However, I’m sure that Colombians have their own culture and lifestyle, which I hope to experience. ”

Have you ever driven an F1 car at this altitude?
“I’ve never driven a Formula One car at a height like Bogotá, and although we will have less engine power by having less oxygen in the air, I’m sure we will give a great show to the public.”

You shared a track with our very own Juan Pablo Montoya, but you weren’t always best of friends, is that right?
“He was very different from the rest of the drivers off the track and was very open to give his opinion if he had a passion for a topic. The track was very fast and professional, so although we had occasional friction, I respect his style of racing.”
